Welcome
There is truly a need to educate asbestos cancer victims about their treatment options. Mesothelioma is a horrible disease with a grim prognosis, but today it is inexcusable for a doctor to give up hope on a mesothelioma patient. The Pacific Heart, Lung & Blood Institute’s mission is to educate workers in a no-nonsense way about available, affordable, and humane treatment options. Moreover, we want workers to know that we are engaged in research which we believe will yield new and promising therapies. And finally, we want to go where nobody's gone before and look seriously at the prospect of preventing asbestos cancer with the use of various anti-inflammatory compounds.
Dr. Robert Cameron will be managing the Punch Worthington lab. Please see our agenda which fleshes out our plans in greater detail. It's important to get the word out now that PHLBI is preparing to embark on a pioneering risk reduction study, working closely with the Asbestos Workers Union and Allied Trades.
In Solidarity,
Roger G. Worthington
