Standing Positions

Some of PHLBI’s work is project based, so consider the opportunity to work part-time or temporarily. “Standing positions” are positions that we may not have an immediate need to fill but are always interviewing in anticipation of new projects. Please send us your résumé if you would like to be considered for any upcoming research projects. Also, if your résumé is on hand, we can always let you know first of any long-term positions that need to be filled.

Volunteers

Volunteers who can commit time, energy, products, or assistance are always needed and deeply appreciated. No volunteer effort is too small. So if you can commit thirty minutes to speak with a patient or a family member about your experience with cancer, you are making a real difference.

Our volunteers assist in many of the following areas and more:

  • Community events staffing
  • Talking to patients and/or family members about their personal disease experiences
  • Fund raising efforts and activities
  • Leading advocacy efforts to ban carcinogens
  • Filling a position on the board, perhaps as a Director or Treasurer
  • Producing an item for charity auctions
  • Speaking with a group about the dangers of asbestos
  • Have something else in mind?

If you have a great idea for a community event, fund raiser, or other function, please let us know. We’re always open to new ideas and ways to reach out to the community or otherwise.
