On May 27, 2005, the Punch Worthington Research Laboratory was dedicated at the UCLA Medical School in Los Angeles, California.  Under the direction of Dr. Robert Cameron, the lab has embarked on several projects for the treatment and prevention of malignant pleural mesothelioma.\

 

HERE’S THE PROBLEM:  Research cannot continue if funding remains stagnant.  Yes, the economy is terrible, but in the meantime, mesothelioma patients and their families wait… and wait… for improved therapies for a disease that receives little attention in philanthropic circles.

 

PHLBI is determined to change the status of mesothelioma from a “back burner” disease, to a cancer that is well-represented in the scientific research community.
